Burnout (or Burn-out) is on the rise. This “occupational phenomenon” is described in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) as “a syndrome conceptualized as resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. It is characterized by three dimensions: (1) feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion; (2) increased mental distance from one’s job, or feelings of negativism or cynicism related to one’s job; and (3) reduced professional efficacy.” [1]
Although this definition is only in relation to one’s job and workplace, more professionals have been using this word to describe other dimensions of life. Do you identify with any of the points above? Has it become more difficult to get out of bed and do your daily duties? If so let’s talk and help you get the boost you need to revamp your life.
